The Paramount ruler and Awujale of Ijebuland, Oba Sikiru Adetona, has announced Chief Sonny Kuku as the 3rd "Ogbeni Oja of Ijebuland".
The position has been vacant since 2015 when the last occupant died.
The title, "Ogbeni Oja of Ijebu land"(Leader of Commerce and Industry in Ijebu) is one of the biggest titles in Ijebu usually bestowed on any worthy illustrious son by the Awujale.
The first "Ogbeni Oja" was the late Chief Adeola Odutola, while his successor was Otunba Bayo Kuku.
Kuku, the Co-Chairman, EKO Hospital, is a master physician and renowned endocrinolost.
He is also an accomplished administrator as well as a reputable scholar among other feats.
The iwuye ceremony of the new title on Kuku, will be announced in due course.
