The remains of the late Iyalode of Egba and Yorubaland, Chief (Mrs) Alaba Lawson will be committed to the mother earth in Abeokuta, on December 8, 2023.

Mrs Lawson died on October 28 at her residence in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital after a brief illness.

Media Adviser to the deceased, Mr Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji, in a statement released in Abeokuta said the

announcement followed a meeting by the family of the late educationist.

He said that the meeting was chaired by Ebenezer Obe-Fabiyi.

While also disclosing that a central planning committee had been set up on the programme of events, Adedeji named Mr. Sanya Abiola as the chairman.

Include Akinola Lawson, Babalola Lawson, Oreoluwa Obey-Fabiyi, Taiwo Jiboku, Akin Jiboku, Tayo Akintayo, Dimeji Kayode-Adedeji and Sesan Bankole

According to Adedeji, various groups, associations and professional bodies would celebrate the deceased in their own ways between Dec. 1 to 6 2023

A service of song will hold on Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Olusegun Obasanjo Presidential Library, Abeokuta.

The final burial will take place on Friday, December 8, 2023 at St James African Church, Idi-Ape, Abeokuta.

This will be followed with interment strictly for the family of the deceased.
